The Power Of Words
The average person speaks about 16,000 words a day. Over the period of one year that is over 5 million words. WOW! Of those words how many have you used to convey love, compassion, sentiment, gratitude, or other positive emotions? Most likely you will answer, a large portion of them. I am sure that you have heard the saying, “Words are powerful.” When we use words that stir up human emotion it helps strengthen our connection with someone.
Just to prove how powerful words are, read the 2 words below and think about how they make you feel.
Each word conjures up different feelings. I am sure when you read the word FIRE your mind signaled for your body to be on high alert for danger. When you read the word RELAX your mind signaled your body to feel less tight, possibly take a deep breath, or find another form of release to reduce tension.
As we think about our words that we use and how important they are, I am a full proponent for using them wisely. We should use our words to:
- Build someone up or support them.
- Let them know how much you care or love them.
- Show them appreciation for what they have meant to your life.
- Reflect on fond memories.
- Let them know what makes them special as a person.
- Make us closer to one another.
- Explain what qualities that value in them as a person.
- Convey our feelings before it is too late.
- Show acceptance.
I would like to share the ways past customers have used their words on our products:
